We are SO excited to confirm that The Mix, our annual festival for children and young people, will return on 17-18 June 2022! Having delivered The Mix for schools for many years, this year, for the first time, we’re delighted to open this well-loved event up to the general public, with FREE entry and parking at the National Trust’s Killerton Estate.

You can look forward to a packed day of live music performances and interactive workshops, guaranteed to enthuse and inspire children and young people (and their families!) about music, performance and creativity – the full line up is as follows…

Dust off your old instruments and join this creative music workshop with Matt Harrison, Emma Welton and ‘The Aubergines’ – the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s family orchestra based in Exeter – children, young people and their grown up are  welcome to take part (bring an instrument!) 12pm / 2pm / 4pm

Take your singing to the next level…

Join Elfyn Jones, Anthony Chamberlain and members of the brand new Devon Youth Choir for a taster choral workshop in the chapel from 2-4pm (drop in)

Discover folk music with Devon Youth Folk Ensemble & Wren Music…

  • All comers singing workshop for complete beginners, families and the general public – come and learn a folk song with us! 11am
  • All comers ‘Try An Instrument’ workshop for complete beginners, families and the general public – instruments provided and absolutely no experience necessary 1pm
  • Folk Tune Workshop – if you are already an instrumentalist and have been wondering about trying folk music, now is your chance! Come and learn a tune and join the band. Bring your own instrument or you can borrow one of ours – but you do need to know a little bit about how to play it (like, how to hold it and how to make a sound) 3pm

  • Have a bash on our Playground Percussion set!
