Funding opportunities

Devon & Torbay Music Education Hubs work with schools, music educators and a range of local, regional and national partner organisations to provide an inclusive, diverse and relevant music education offer for all children and young people. As part of a network of Music Education Hubs across England, we are supported using public funding from the DfE and Arts Council England, and tasked with delivering the core and extension roles of the National Plan for Music Education and ensuring that all schools engage with the Schools Music Education Plan (SMEP). Devon & Torbay Music Education Hubs are led by Devon Education Services, part of Devon County Council.

Our work includes supporting progression routes for young musicians through direct funding for a network of music centres, ensembles and music-making opportunities, spanning a wide range of genres and specialisms, delivered by our funded partner organisations.

We welcome applications to support new initiatives that both complement existing opportunities and help to address gaps in provision, particularly projects that:

  • Demonstrate an inclusive approach that provides equal access for all children and young people
  • Offer innovative responses to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the music education sector
  • Support the wellbeing and personal development of children and young people through music
  • Help children and young people fulfil their musical potential
