Join us to discover the joy of chamber music and study with exceptional musicians from IMS Prussia Cove, based in the beautiful setting of Lavethan House, near Bodmin.
The course will run along a similar format to previous years, where young musicians are placed into chamber groups with their peers, to work on a variety of repertoire with inspiring tutors. There are rehearsals and free time timetabled throughout the day; Lavethan House has plenty of room for everyone to rehearse and relax! On the final day of the course, participants will travel to local primary schools to give concerts to younger students alongside their IMS tutors.
The course is run by Tim Boulton, a familiar face within Cornwall’s flourishing youth music world, and he is joined by violinist Thomas Mathias and presenter/conductor Patrick Bailey, who will lead a presentation workshop.
The course is open to young string players from the south-west aged 13-19 of around grade 7 standard. There are also some places for pianists and wind players. Please note, we will let you know if you have been accepted onto the course after all applications have been received.
