Ron Phelan

I worked as a professional touring musician until 2020, playing all around Europe with jazz and theatre projects. I have played in venues all across the UK from Ronnie Scotts to the Millenium Centre in Wales.  I teach jazz and classical technique and theory. I also teach jazz improvisation. I also worked as a composer for theatre productions and teach composition. Apart from working as a performer, I have also taught for many years, predominantly double bass.  I have developed my own method for beginner bass players over the years to help them navigate the instrument and to develop their musical skills. I have a PGCE and have completed my ECT years. I have an up to date enhanced DBS. I also have a full clean driving license and a car.
