Devon and Torbay Music Education Hubs are delighted to be working in partnership with The Benedetti Foundation to provide a workshop for young string players on Friday 9 December at Dartington Hall, Totnes TQ9 6EL. You will need to arrive by 9.15am for a 9.30am start and we will finish at 2pm – please bring a packed lunch and a drink along (as well as your instrument, of course).
Young string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass), from Year 7-11, and working from approximately Grade 3-6, are invited to join us for a day of making music together. Please note no exams need to have been taken and these grades are given as guideline only.
This day has been designed for you. We want you to absorb as much as possible, leave any nerves or worries at the door and be focussed, yet relaxed. Our sole intention is to inspire you.
On the day, we will be working on two contrasting pieces of music and in order for us all to gain the most from the workshop, we will require some preparation from you as we work towards the session. It doesn’t have to take long, but consistency is key. We have put together a tutorial video and a play along track to help you all with your practice. These will be shared with all those who are registered by the Hub.
On the day, we will be working with an amazing team of tutors and will also have a group of Benedetti Foundation Ambassadors (conservatoire students) with us.
This day is free of charge and has been generously supported by Arts Council England National Lottery Project Grants, the Norman Family Charitable Trust and the Sampimon Trust.
